With the help of our local business supporters, Skyline Kiwanis Club has privately funded the 4th of July fireworks display for the City of Longmont since 2009. This year, to accommodate more parking, more food trucks, more community accessibility and more fun, the fireworks will be launched from the Fire Training Center at 1st & Martin and we need your support. We need to raise $50,000 to retain our title of having the best fireworks show in Northern Colorado!

Highlight your business by showing support of the fireworks, Kiwanis, the community and freedom by becoming a sponsor. Package descriptions are below. We are expecting 10,000 people at the event and many, many thousands more see our web and social marketing where you’ll be highlighted. The Skyline Kiwanis Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, so your sponsorships and donations may be tax deductible-just make sure to check with your tax person.

We made some changes to the event since last year to include a partnership with the City of Longmont, so a few of the details below are still being worked out. Nonetheless, just pick out a sponsor level that shows your level of support and we will coordinate the rest. One important note: one feature we’ve had in the past is parking passes. We won’t know if that is available to us until our meeting on May 3rd.

Eagle Sponsor – $7,000 This is the grand-daddy of them all! Any donation of $7,000 or more will be recognized as an Eagle Sponsor. Each Eagle Sponsor will receive as much recognition as we can possibly generate: Your large banner will be hung at the event for as long as possible; You will be included in all press releases; You will be named in all internet marketing; Your logo will be on all marketing, on our web site and our Facebook page; inclusion in a post event thank you ad in the Times Call; a commemorative plaque recognizing your support; and Special recognition announcement during pre-show concert at Wibby Brewing to recognize your company for their commitment to America’s freedom.

Red – $750 Your 4 x 6 company banner will be hung at the fireworks show. Your company logo will appear on the Kiwanis web site and it’ll be linked to your company.

White – $1,500 Your 4 x 6 company banner will be hung at the fireworks show. Your company logo will appear on the Kiwanis web site and it’ll be linked to your company. Recognition will be given in a press release and a generous helping of complimentary beverages at the beer garden on the 4th of July at Wibby.

Blue – $3000 Your 4 x 6 company banner will be hung at the fireworks show. Your company logo will appear on the Kiwanis web site and it’ll be linked to your company. Recognition will be given in a press release and automatic entry into the Fireworks Fundraiser Golf Tournament on June 7th at Ute Creek Golf Course.

Independence Day. Independently Funded!

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”

With these words, Thomas Jefferson, declared our independence from an oppressive government, and our firm belief in each individual’s freedom (duty) to participate in their own governance.

Each July 4th we celebrate this declaration with a national holiday, culminated in many communities by a display of fireworks. These shows are not without significant expense and effort, and our club has in the past contributed to the expense of the show, sponsored by the city, and at least partially paid for with taxes collected from the community. In 2009 our club had the revolutionary idea that seeking funds from the government, collected by the government, from the very residents of the community celebrating freedom from too much government interference in their individual lives was, well, puzzling. We applaud our local governments’ support for this endeavor (traffic control, fire protection, proper notification, etc) but we firmly believe that members of the community should be responsible for funding this sacred celebration.
